Firsts & Lasts
Here we have the TaterTots on their very first official first day of school as a group--
(taken on my first day back to work after the Lil Guy was born)
And here they are today--Their very first official First Day of School with all of them as students!
(taken today *sob*)
I guess I did something right. Lil Guy walked into class today like he had done it a thousand times. He hugged and kissed me, reminded me to "pick him up later", gave me a high-five and turned around to go join the other 4 yr olds in his class.
I waved and blew a kiss to a retreating backside. His teacher smiled indulgently and reassured me this child she'd only met the night before was in "good hands" and that he would "be fine". She's not a mother. She is clueless. But I left him in her care anyway.
No, this wasn't the first time I'd done this, but it was the last. My baby is no longer a baby yet he will remain so for the rest of his life. I'm not much of a gusher or sentimental "fool" but this hit me hard. Lil Guy is great. And I'll be fine...
(PS: And if they screw him up, I'm gonna hurt someone!)

CCR Creedence Clearwater Revival
Left a good job in the city,
Workin' for The Man ev'ry night and day,
And I never lost one minute of sleepin',
Worryin' 'bout the way things might have been.
CHORUS:
Big wheel keep on turnin',
Proud Mary keep on burnin',
Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river.
Thanks ICL :) I'm pretty proud of 'em!
And now that song is stuck in my head--the Ike & Tina Turner version...
Rollin' Rollin' on the river...doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo doo
;)
Awww, I'll relate one day :) That first pic is so adorable! My how time flies eh?
Isn't it so sad watching them go off to school for the first time? I cried too when Girly started Kindergarten. It's so crazy how time flies and they grow up.
Awwwwwww...I know I'm going to ask for another one when Peanut goes to Kindgergarten...
the baby is the hardest to send off to school.
its a mixture of excitement...finally all of them out of the house
and guilt...what am I doing?
I hear ya.
what great lookin kids you've got Gracie!
So sweet in their uniforms. They all look alike...so tell me...who do they look like...you or the hubs?
Kimmy: #1Son is a pleasant mix of both his parents--although he tends to favor his father's side more than mine. SweetSon is a throwback to my mom's family. He would easily be mistaken for one of my uncle's children. LilGuy is the spitting image of me ('cept he's got spare parts). My mom constantly comments at how alarming it is at times to see him and she instantly is brought back to seeing me at the same age. LOL
And an interesting sidebar to the boys is that all of them have varying shades of green eyes while both my hubby and I have brown eyes--another "throwback" gene syndrome. Pretty cool if ya ask me!
